Motivational Reading is so important to help with achieving your goals. I love this book review!

Motivational Reading: “The Four Spiritual Laws of Prosperity”

I love reading books and I love sharing the latest and greatest books I have read through doing a book review on the books I love.  I think that motivational reading is extremely important in maintaining the determination needed to achieve what you want in life.   Try feeling bad after you read something that moves you to get off your butt.  It just can’t happen.

Anyways, I just got done reading The Four Spiritual Laws of Prosperity by Edwene Gaines and I have to tell you that this definitely will be added to my top motivation books of all time.

I have already started a list of motivational books that I love and now I will have to update that list to include this book.  It is seriously a game changer in my opinion.

The author, Edwene Gaines is a pastor and in the book, she starts out by saying that she really struggled with some of the beliefs of the church she attended as a kid and lost her way a bit when it came to God.  She held different beliefs about what God wanted us to experience in our lives.  She felt that God really wanted us to live big and have big dreams.

If you have ever read The Circle Makerby Mark Batterson, his thinking is very similar.  He believes we should be praying bold prayers.  God is honored by the prayers that are the biggest and boldest.  I love that!  I love that if I have this crazy outrageous prayer and I have no idea how in the world I am going to make something happen, that it doesn’t matter.  Edwene states in her book.  “If you have a dream, pray to God about it.  The how is not your business, God takes care of that part.”  Holy crap.

Mark Batterson states that “you have to do your part in order for God to do His” and I believe both statements fully.  If you want something so badly in your life that you are willing to put in the work, God will notice and if it is part of the plan he has in store for you, he will help you.

I also feel that sometimes we want things so badly, but God has other plans for us so it ultimately doesn’t work out.  The thing is sometimes He has even better things in store for us that we don’t even know yet.  It will likely be even better than what we orginally wanted.

“God says “yes, no or not yet.”- Edween Gaines

I fully believe the statement above.  There have been tons of things I have failed at, but none of that matters.  Failure is not a negative thing like most people perceive it to be.  It simply means you rethink your strategy.

The Four Laws of Spiritual Prosperity really made me take a deeper look at my life.  It talks about divine purpose.  Once you figure out your divine purpose, it is almost like passion meets prosperity.

The Four Spiritual Laws of Prosperity are as follows:

Tithing:  Tithing is a tough subject for just about anybody.  Money in general is a little touchy when it is discussed in church or anywhere else for that matter.  I did a guest post talking about the power of giving even while in debt and discussed that we do not yet tithe 10%.  I can’t get Greg on board to tithe that much at this point since we are still trying to pay off debt.

Goal Setting:  What is it that you want to achieve in life?  What are you doing to achieve your goal?  What steps are you actively taking to make your goal or dream a reality?  Edwene talks about it in this book.  She went through some pretty rough patches to achieve her goals, but she remained strong and prayed at every step of the way.

Forgiveness:  Learning to forgive others is necessary not for them, but for us.  That may sound a little selfish, but in order for you to live a life like Jesus did, you need to be able to forgive.  Forgiveness helps you move on with your life.  Holding a grudge does nothing for you.

Divine Purpose:  What do you want more than anything in this life?  I feel that this goes hand in hand with goal setting.  I do not think that our divine purpose is always easy to figure out and I think that most times it evolves with us.  The goals I had 5 years ago are not the same goals I have now and I believe that I am closer to my divine purpose now than I was 5 years ago.  You may feel the same way and if you do, I encourage you to step out of your comfort zone and start living your dream life.

Motivational reading is so important.  Think about it just for a second.  If you read quotes and books that motivate and inspire you, don’t you think your attitude will be better?  Don’t you think it would help you achieve you goal if you had these positive thoughts?  I think so.

Even if you read 1-2 motivational quotes per day  it will likely help you improve your outlook.  Give it a try.  If you have any other book recommendations, I would love to know what they are:)
