If you are interested in starting a blog, check out blog income reports. They are a great way to find out what is working and what isn't. Here is my blog income report for November.

Yes, I know you probably think it is weird that I am about to post how much money I make from blogging, but if you check the web, you will see that lots of others post their income reports as a way to stay accountable to their goals.  I am doing the same.  I love blogging for so many reasons, but I think mostly because it is a hobby that is all mine:)  I started a blog as a way to reach out and help other’s with budgeting and finance and I really enjoy writing.  When I first started this blog, I had no idea that people actually make money blogging.  Now I know differently and I would like to share this with you in case blogging is something you are considering.

If blogging isn’t your thing, no biggie, but I would love for you to find whatever it is that makes you happy and go after it.  Life is too short to wish for something that can become your reality.

How long I have been blogging

I have been blogging now for  a year, but really got serious about blogging in February of 2016 as I read a book about making money blogging.  Prior to this, I had no idea that bloggers even made money blogging.  I just thought blogging was a way to share stories and provide inspiration to others which I was/am happy to do.  I love helping people in any way that I can so blogging is something that is fun for me.

My Last Income Report

If you read my last income report, you probably noticed that I lumped my earnings together as I really hadn’t been focusing on my income.

You may have read the post where I talked about the Future of Frame to Freedom and that I have decided to change my focus just a bit.  I am still going to be talking about saving money, budgeting and paying off debt, but I am also going to be talking more about health, motivation and purpose as I feel these things are all directly related.  My scope will be more focused on intentional living practices instead of just finance.  I stepped away from blogging for about 6 weeks because I just felt like I wasn’t headed in the right direction.

I prayed and did a Bible study that really helped me re-center my thoughts and helped me focus on my message.  I now feel renewed and my passion is back!  I love blogging and have so many goals related to this little blog of mine.

Anyways, you may have also read that we made a huge decision a couple months back and I decided to quit my job.  Phew…  that was a HUGE decision, but my husband and I both felt that our family needed more balance.  I actually really like working as a Physician Assistant but at this point in our lives, we desperately needed balance.

Income for November 2016

Affiliate sales: $112.80

Ad Networks: $117.23

Total Income for November:  $230.03

Yes, I know this is small compared to other bloggers I follow like Michelle and Making Sense of Cents, Rosemarie and The Busy Budgeter and Suzi from Start a Mom Blog, but one good thing I noticed was that several of my affiliates actually more than doubled from the month prior.  I went back and changed a few things and my sales went up.  I was surprised and happy about this!  I learned some awesome stuff from the Making Sense of  Affiliate Marketing course and it is definitely a course I recommend other bloggers take.

The other thing I did for my blog since my last income report was invest in the Genius Blogger’s Toolkit which included so many great tools!  I cannot even tell you how happy I am that I paid the money for it.  It was worth every cent (it cost $97).  Anyways, there was an awesome course in it called Building a Framework with Abby Lawson.  I loved the course!  I also love that it is priced very reasonably for someone who is new to blogging but wants all the information on how to get up and running.  You can learn more about the Building a Framework course by clicking my link.  Abby is awesome and she is super helpful.  I highly recommend the course if you are considering starting a blog.

My goals going forward

Like I mentioned before, I have prayed about what to do with this little blog for weeks and I finally feel like I have some direction.  I have several goals over the next year and I can’t wait to see what happens.  Specifically, I want to create a few of my own products related to intentional living.  I am also coming out with 3 new FREE courses very soon.  I don’t know what the heck came over me but I had some really good ideas of how I could be more helpful and I think it only makes sense to separate the ideas.

I mentioned above that I really wanted to dive more into intentional living as my focus.  I asked my readers what they needed and I got so many helpful responses. It seems like it took me forever to really figure out what to do with those responses but I think the direction this is going will be really good.

Some of my Favorite blogging tools

There are some really great tools I use to help me blog more efficiently. They are

Boardbooster– Boardbooster allows me to spend little time on Pinterest.  It automates all of my pins for me so I don’t have to manually Pin my Pins.  I love you Boardbooster. Their customer service team is great also. You can check out Boardbooster here.  I currently use the $5 per month plan.

Convertkit– I love Convertkit.  I think love may even be an understatement.  They make things easy.  They have had some techie SPAM infiltration issues but their customer service is literally amazing and as of right now, I have no problem referring anyone to Convertkit.  You can check out Convertkit here.

Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing– Michelle is an inspiration to so many people and she is totally my inspiration to keep going.  She is so nice and helpful and I LOVE her course.  If I had to choose 2 courses for new bloggers, it would be this one and the one right underneath:)  You can check out Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing here.

Building a Framework– This is the course I mentioned already, but it bears repeating.  If you are considering a blog, you should DEFINITELY look into this course.  Abby is amazing, helpful and has poured her heart and soul into helping others.  I love how budget friendly the courses are and I would highly recommend this course if you want to start a blog but need to know the ins and outs.  Check out more about the Building a Framework course here.

Make Over Your Mornings–  Yes, I am including this here.  In order for me to start a blog, work part-time, manage a household, have our real estate company and still sleep, I needed to create a routine.  I finally found one that works.  If you struggle with creating systems and routines, check out Crystal’s course.  It is really helpful to get your stuff together.  You can check out the Make Over Your Mornings Course here.

The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod– This is a book I read and I have recommended before.  It was a book that transformed my life just a little less than a year ago.  If you are looking for a motivational book for the New Year… buy this one.  And this one.

GoDaddy–  This is who I have my domain name registered through and my hosting is through GoDaddy.  I haven’t had too many issues with them (thankfully).  I think the price is very reasonable, but just beware that they try to upsell you on everything! You can check out hosting with GoDaddy here. They do offer 50% off hosting from time to time and you get a free domain name when you sign up for 1 year of hosting with GoDaddy.  I used to recommend Bluehost, but honestly, I have heard so much negative about them, that I can’t really justify recommending their services anymore.  They are cheaper than GoDaddy, but in this case, you will get what you pay for.  Many bloggers have had problems with their sites going down with Bluehost and if you are trying to make money with your blog, that could be a challenge.

So there ya have it.  I am pretty happy that my overall income has gone up even though I didn’t really do to much and stepped back from blogging.  I am hoping to really increase my income and pageviews with the New Year and with the free courses I am going to be offering.  If you want to be the first to know all about the free courses, you can sign up to the mailing list and be the first to be notified.
